Camping & Biking on a Danish island called “Bornholm” (25-26 April 2015)

During 25-26 April 2015, my friend and I cycled about 60 km covering almost the whole upper part of Bornholm. The weather here did not treat us so badly - overcast, sunny, windy and slightly rainy. Cycle lanes are pretty good and cover thoroughly the island. Some sections are superb asphalt bike lanes but some are just simple gravel trails passing through agricultural fields, pastures, tree plantation and hilly terrains.

Bornholm is a Danish island. It takes just 1 hr 20 min by ferry from Ystad port of Sweden (Ystad to Rønne). The main industries on the island are fishing, glass making, pottery, dairy farming and tourism (in the summer). The topography of Bornholm mainly consists of rock (granite) formation with rolling hills in the north, pine, deciduous forests and farmlands in the middle and sandy beaches in the south. April is springtime in Bornholm and hence wildflowers in bloom everywhere.
