Stavanger - The Oil Capital of Norway (17-20 Aug 2016)

Again, I woke up early around 4.40 am in the morning. Instead of taking a shower and get ready, I checked and replied emails. Shit!!! I was running late. Took a shower and get dressed for 10 minutes and run... It was so early and felt like not fully woke up. I managed to catch the train to Copenhagen airport at 5.41 and got to the airport at 6.17, the counter of Norwegian Airline at Terminal 2 at 6.30, boarded at 6.50 and finally made my flight at 7.15.

I took me 45 minutes to get to Oslo and 45 minutes to connect the flight from Oslo to Stavanger (2-hour layover). The weather in Oslo was damn good – sunny and calm. The temperature in Stavanger was also perfect at 16 degrees C even though it was foggy, cloudy and slightly windy. The plane landed around 11.30. It took me just like 5 minutes from the arrivals to get to the airport bus (at the front of the airport). The round ticket from the Stavanger airport to city center was 180 NOK (valid for a year. Amazing!!!). The bus took about a half an hour to the city center, where it is close to my hotel, Thon Hotel Stavanger at Klubbgata 6 (ca. 5 minutes on foot).

There is nothing cheap in this country. The price for a single room at the hotel is more than 1,000 NOK but I got at 650 NOK a night as a promotion for the new opening. This price is worth to pay due to it includes a big breakfast and a small dinner per day. Wow!!!! Tempting!!!! Even the dinner is small, it made me stuffed because of lots of food i.e. pasta carbonara, salad, bread, fillet salmon, salmon soup, dessert, fruits, and coffee. One thing I did not like was that everything in the dining room is green i.e. carpet, tables, chairs, curtain, or even TV. It made me dizzy.
